Miss Universe denies change in ownership; Raul Rocha fires back at Chavit Singson

The pageant remains in the hands of its current owners.

The pageant remains in the hands of its current owners.

In a statement issued on Friday, January 2, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) addressed the circulating reports of a change in the ownership of the company.

This stemmed from a recent Facebook post of former Philippine politician Luis Chavit Singson, who had previously announced in public his intention to buy the MUO last December.

Had a good chat with my daughter Congresswoman Richelle Singson and Shawn McClain, former Miss Universe Vice President. He updated us with possible acquisition talks on Miss Universe Organization,” the post read.

It continued: “For everyone’s information: MUO is not owned anymore by Anne Jakrajutatip or Raul Rocha Cantú. In fact, they both have arrest warrants against them!

In response, the MUO said that its statement was bring issued “to address recent false and misleading statements regarding its ownership and leadership.”

These statements have been made seeking to misrepresent ownership, falsely suggest acquisition or purchasing opportunities, and create confusion. Such actions appear designed to deceive the public, improperly solicit investments, and exploit the Miss Universe brand for personal benefit, visibility, or advantage,” the MUO furthered.

In response, the Miss Universe Organization stated “clearly and unequivocally” that it remains under its current ownership and leadership.

The Miss Universe Organization is actively reviewing these matters with its legal advisors and will take all appropriate and necessary steps to address and prevent further false, misleading, or unauthorized actions or statements,” adding that it is “committed to protecting its integrity, its partners, and the public from deception or misuse of its name, brand, and reputation.”

The company added, “As the organization moves forward, it does so with the same vision, leadership, and long-term commitment that have guided its growth and success. This continuity remains fundamental to the organization’s mission, values, and strategic direction.”

They also advised the public, its partners, and the media to tune in to their official channels for verified information.

Meanwhile, co-owner Raul Rocha has took his Instagram account to personally air his tirades at Singson, whom he called as a “delusional fool.”

I’m fed up with that delusional fool and his daughter making statements, dreaming of something he wouldn’t be able to achieve in a hundred years. Keep dreaming my lawyers will put an end to your fairy tales,” stated the Mexican businessman.

At present, Singson has not yet issued a statement to answer the organization’s stance on the matter.
