On Saturday, December 20, the closing ceremony for the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand happened at the Rajamangala Stadium.
The said show, which concludes the two-week-long biennial meet, which took place across various sites in the cities of Bangkok and Nonthaburi.
The ceremony started with a moment to pay tribute to the late Queen Sirikit, who passed away last October.
Featured during the event were performances from Thai personalities, such as actor Daou Pittaya and Kratae Trae, as well as the final parade of nations.
For this event, lone boxing gold medalist in this edition, Eumir Marcial, proudly waved the Philippine flag. Throughout the entire duration of the games, the country clinched a total of 276 medals—50 gold, 73 silver, and 153 bronze.
Another highlight of the evening was the official passing of the baton to Malaysia, which will host the 34th edition of SEA Games in 2027.
The upcoming meet will mark the return of the games to Malaysia, which hosted in 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.
