She never runs out of “anne-tics.”
At the 2025 ABS-CBN Christmas Special, which aired on television last weekend, Anne Curtis added one more to her slate of viral performances this year.
The actress-TV host, who tapped original Filipino music (OPM) legend and fellow It’s Showtime host Ogie Alcasid as her pianist, performed live the song Defying Gravity, the official sound track from the movie Wicked.
In the said set, Curtis showed how much her voice could go higher, asking Alcasid to continue bringing the key up a notch as she prepared to go for the high notes toward the end of the song.
A video of their performance has since generated more than 600,000 views on X, formerly Twitter.
Anne then responded to the said post with an explanation.
She said: “Mas maganda yan nung rehearsal the night before. I had to RUN to the stage kasi from the other building. Super hingal kaya, ayan. But if not, super bagay [sa] boses ko yan.”
One commenter then replied to her tweet and wrote in jest: “Mahiya na lang talaga si Elphaba, siya lumipad lang ikaw tumakbo pa.”
Meanwhile, another shared a short clip of Anne leaving the studio explaining the performance.
Anne continues to host the hit noontime variety program It’s Showtime and will soon be seen in the upcoming Netflix series BuyBust: The Undesirables with Gerald Anderson in 2026.
