Former Pinoy Big Brother: Otso housemates Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza, also collectively known as KarJon, are reuniting in the upcoming iWant original movie entitled The Last Resort.
The film marks a bold departure from the typical romantic image associated with KarJon, offering the actors a chance to showcase deeper, more complex performances in their comeback pairing.
Directed by Christian Paolo Lat, The Last Resort is said to be blending “psychological tension with immersive storytelling, exploring themes of vengeance, suspicion, trauma, and the hidden lives of people who appear ordinary on the surface.“
Set within the fictional La Mera Resort, the film explores suspicious and frequent deaths of married male guests with incidents repeatedly attributed to accidents by its management.
Katrina (Karina Bautista) is a housekeeper with hidden motives. Then comes a visitor named Jacob (Aljon Mendoza), whose arrival coincides with a surge of suspicious activity within the property.
Also part of the movie are Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 alum Patrick Ramirez, Elyson De Dios, Rania Lindayag, Paulo Angeles, John Arcenas, Randy Villarama, Emma Viri, and Brian Scott Lomboy.
The Last Resort is set to make its premiere on Monday, December 8 on iWant. It is available, along with other original programs offerred by the platform, under the premium plan that starts at PHP35 per month.
