In an Instagram post last Monday, December 1, Kapuso actress Carla Abellana shocked fans and netizens when she uploaded a cryptic photo.
The said image sees her wearing a diamong ring on her finger, which immediately grabbed the attention of everyone who saw it.
In the caption, she wrote a Bible verse lifted from Jeremiah 29:11, which read: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
As of writing, the post has garenered over 225,000 likes on her Instagram account, with comments coming from several artists, led by Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado, Megan Young, Rhian Ramos, Jake Cuenca, Andrea Torres, Arci Muñoz, Denise Laurel, Max Collins, Benjamin Alves, and many more.
The day after, Boy Abunda said in his afternoon talk show that their team personally reached out to Abellana, who confirmed that she is engaged to her non-showbiz partner.
Abunda said: “Minessage namin si Carla kung engaged na nga siya. Kinumpirma ni Carla [na totoo].”
He added, “We asked permission if we can confirm this in the program that she is indeed engaged. And she said, sure. Napakagandang balita po. We are happy for Carla Abellana.”
