There was no ill intention when she made the joke, the comedian said.
In the middle of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant on Friday, November 21, Unkabogbale Superstar Vice Ganda was one of the many personalities that aired their reactions on social media.
Apart from tweeting her support for the country’s bet, Ahtisa Manalo, the TV host-comedian also pointed out her observations on the program itself.
One of the many that she saw was the pageant’s decision to tap Thai actor-singer Jeff Satur to perform twice—at the opening segment and the final look of the final five contestants.
This prompted Vice to make the following joke: “Ay juliet juliet ang performer ha! Sana nagsabi kayo para pinapunta ko jan si Stell!”, with her pertaining to SB19 member Stell Ajero.
This tweet then drew mixed reactions from users, with some taking the It’s Showtime host’s joke as an indirect crticism towards the Miss Universe organizers.
Others, however, took it as an “insult” to the performer, with one user’s sentiment being: “Not to hate lang, ha, pero medyo nakaka-offend po ah? We’re a fan of Jeff Satur, proud nga kami na nandun si Jeff tas iddisrespect niyo lng po?”
Vice then replied to that user, telling them, “Ha anong disrespect? I never said anything ill about the performer. It was you who chose to give it an ill meaning thats why ur pissed. So kung nabadtrip ka e desisyon mo un. Di to gaslighting. Sa true lang tayo. Wag namang gawing big deal lahat ng joke!”
In another, the comedian further emphasized upon responding to a now-deleted tweet: “Did i say anything bad about him? Juliet juliet means inulit. Masama yun? Ung ka OA-yan mo ang unacceptable!”
“Grabe kung saan saan na umabot ung interpretation mo ghorl!!! Yan ang lalo mo ikakachaka yang pag gawa mo ng kakastressan,” she further stated.
Vice then called it a nonsensical issue, joking that her main concern at the time being the placement of Ahtisa in the pageant, who was declared third runner-up in spite of her performance.
“Lang kwentang issue!!! Balik tayo kay Ahtisa! Di nya deserve ang 3rd runner up mga ulul! Di pa talaga ko tapos! Napuyat ako e. Chozzzzz!!!! Love you Ahtisa Manalo!”
