Promising to be a showcase of the best of homegrown Filipino humor.
Last Wednesday, November 19, ABS-CBN’s streaming service iWant premiered the new stand-up comedy series Benta Nights, which presents itself in a “raw, high-energy format that captures the full experience of live comedy on digital screens.”
Expected to be featured throughout the six-episode run of the series are 12 of the country’s most sought-after Filipino comedians.
Taking the stage on the first episode is comic Red Ollero, who is known for his quick wit and fearless takes on politics, religion, and personal flaws.
Joining him in the series are Alexio Tabafunda, Andren Bernardo, Arghie Malgapo, Baus Rufo, Chanchan Consing, Issa Villaverde, Judd Gregorio, Mark Liamado, Rae Mammuad, Roger Naldo, and Victor Anastacio.
Directed by SOLID OK founder and director Ryan Puno, new episodes of Benta Nights will stream every Wednesday on iWant.
The show’s first episode is available to stream for free, while the rest will be accessible to premium users of the platform.
Benta Nights is one of the many original productions that premiered on the streaming service, which rebranded back to its current name last July.
Other titles include the digital series Ghosting, Love At First Spike, movie Romance Reboot, as well as the revived Maalaala Mo Kaya and S.O.C.O.
