Personalized student Beep cards to roll out on September 20

A few days behind the originally scheduled date.

On Saturday, September 13, the Department of Transportation announced that launch of the personalized Beep cards for students will push through on September 20, 2025.

According to the agency, the supposed September 15 launch was delayed due to “system issues,” with Acting Transportation Sec. Giovanni Lopez saying that it has been rectified immediately.

Beginning on the said date, the on-the-spot printing of student Beep cards, as well as the white Beep cards for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will commence.

Thus, the process will be streamlined to mere minutes, in contrast to the previously tedious 7 to 10 days of processing.

The move is hailed as one of the measures to further expedite the queues in station and prevent crowding at the ticket booth, especially of students availing the 50% discount offered in the MRT and LRT lines in Metro Manila.
