It is also the band’s first mini-album in over two years.
Korean pop group MONSTA X released on Monday, September 1, their new extended play entitled ‘The X’.
Carried as the lead single for this EP is the song ‘N The Front,’ which highlights the group’s signature sound and attitude.
The music video, which was published onto YouTube on the same day, has gained over 2.8 million views within after five days.
Also part of their thirteenth extended play are the tracks ‘Savior,’ ‘Tuscan Leather,’ ‘Catch Me Now,’ ‘Fire & Ice,’ and ‘Do What I Want’—which served as the pre-release track and was first issued last August 18.
The album name ‘The X’ also reflects both the band’s name and the Roman numeral 10, which symbolizes the tenth anniversary of the group.
Prior to this, MONSTA X’s last EP was entitled ‘Reason,’ which included the single ‘Beautiful Liar,’ in January 2023.
The team, which is currently the six-piece line-up composed of Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M., was formed through the survival show ‘No Mercy’ in 2015.
They went on to become known in the K-pop world as beast idols, thanks to their strong masculine concepts and imaging.
Some of their most-popular singles are ‘DRAMARAMA,’ ‘Jealousy,’ ‘Shoot Out,’ ‘Alligator,’ and ‘Find You’.
