It is one of the country’s most-prestigious award-giving bodies in the field of entertainment.
On Friday, September 5, the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino officially announced the nominees for the 48th Gawad Urian Awards.
The body has recognized the performances of actors and the work by creatives these productions of the prior year.
In the Best Actress category, they have recognized the portrayals of Aicelle Santos (Isang Himala), Arisa Nakano (Kono Basho), Gabby Padilla (Kono Basho), Jenaica Sangher (Tumandok), Lovi Poe (Guilty Pleasure), and Mylene Dizon (The Hearing).
Meanwhile, 7 actors are in the Best Actor race, which are Baron Geisler (Dearly Beloved), Carlo Aquino (Crosspoint), Dennis Trillo (Green Bones), Enzo Osorio (The Hearing), Ronnie Lazaro (Phantosmia), Ruru Madrid (Green Bones), and Sid Lucero (Outside).
This year, the film ‘Tumandok’ bagged the most nominations with 11 across categories like Best Film and Best Direction.
Veteran actor Dante Rivero will be conferred with the Natatanging Gawad Urian for his outstanding contributions to the art.
