Targeting the Gen Z market in the country.

Last August 10, Smart Communications, Inc. announced the launch of KiQ, the first and only fully app-based service in the country and one of the few of its kind in the entire world.

The company explained, “At the core of KiQ’s innovation is its powerful and dynamic platform that enables users to personalize offers and unbundle services, giving them full control and flexibility over their mobile lifestyle,” with the service primarily catering to the Gen Z market.

Anastacio “Boy” R. Martirez, Smart Chief Operating Officer, shared: “Filipino Gen Zs are redefining how they live, share, and stay connected. With KiQ, we’re giving them a mobile experience that puts them in full control — no wasted data, no unnecessary add-ons, just total freedom and flexibility. This is what the future of mobile looks like.”

KiQ can be accessed by purchasing a dedicated eSIM and downloading the application on the Play Store or App Store.

Using the Slider Interface on the App, subscribers will be able to choose their data allocation, whether to have calls and texts, and the length of their plan validity to match their unique passions and lifestyles.

Notably, Smart will also implement the QR-less eSIM activation, which will eliminate the need to scan an eSIM QR code via email and subscribers will simply click to download the eSIM and activate it in the settings of their device.

Additionally, subscribers can also choose their number, according to Smart.

KiQ will also offer a prioritized network experience in high-traffic areas, enabling users to stay connected even during peak usage times.

The brand is one of the products under the PLDT-Smart umbrella, which also includes the Smart Prepaid and Postpaid, Smart Infinity, TNT, and formerly, Sun Cellular, among many others.
