More hospitals have been included under the preferred status program.
Last July 11, a contract signing was held in Pasig City between Metro Pacific Health and Medicard, a company under the AIA group, to expand the two firms’ existing strategic partnership.
Representing MPH were Jessica Abaya, Chief Marketing Officer, and JR Mabagos, Strategic
Partnerships Manager.
From Medicard, attendees included President and CEO Julian Mengual, Dr. Catherine Jimenez, Director for Medical Services, Emerson Conducto, Head of Provider Management, and Rhea Negrete, Provider Management Officer.
The new memorandum of agreement (MOA) formalized the addition of more hospitals under MPH under the Preferred Status Program of the health maintenance organization (HMO)—enabling shared service standards and operational alignment to enhance patient experience and healthcare delivery.
Five more were added to the initial five hospitals that were part of the first deal signed in 2024 and these are now officially onboarded under the same partnership terms previously established.
Now designated as Medicard’s preferred partners under the 2025 MOA are the Lucena United Doctors Hospital (LUDH), Diliman Doctors Hospital (DDH), Medical Center Imus (MCI), Ramiro Community Hospital (RCH), and Dr. Jesus Delgado Memorial Hospital (JDMH).
Present during the signing were also representatives from each of the five hospitals.
Meanwhile, the first five MPH hospitals to be included under the Preferred Status Program were the Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC), Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center (CHMC), Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (OLLH), Riverside Medical Center Inc. (RMCI), and Marikina Valley Medical Center (MVMC).
As the partnership continues to grow, Metro Pacific Health noted that both organizations are “exploring new opportunities to elevate the patient experience and expand health programs for the communities” they are serving.
