On Wednesday, July 9, ABS-CBN revealed the official music video for the 2025 version of the song ‘Kapamilya Forever’.
Highlighted as the core of the nearly four-minute-long video are ordinary citizens that came from various backgrounds and lent their voices for the revival of the said track.
Seen in the clip were students, waitress, balut vendor, delivery rider, nurse, office worker, and teacher, among others, whom represented the broad range of Kapamilyas in the country and the rest of the world.
In contrast to the original version created by Thyro Alfaro and Tiny Corpuz, the 2025 update is upbeat.
It also underlined the word “kwento” (stories) in its lyrics, which accentuates the company’s transition from a broadcasting network to a content production powerhouse since its terrestrial network was shut down.
Coincidentally, the release of ‘Kapamilya Forever’ also comes a day before the fifth anniversary since ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal bid was turned down by the 18th Congress in July 2020.
During that time, the original version was used as the battle cry of employees and loyal viewers of the then-leading broadcast network in the country.
Since the events of 2020, ABS-CBN has largely pivoted to providing content across various platforms, including its erstwhile free-to-air rivals TV5, GMA, and A2Z, and streaming services Netflix, Prime Video, and Viu.
