The actress-singer stood up for herself against the relentless actions against her.

In a statement on Wednesday, May 21, incoming Representative Leila de Lima, and the rest of Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist, expressed support for Nadine Lustre.

This, as she filed complaint for violation of the Safe Spaces Act in response to the relentless and malicious attacks she has endured, the group noted.

This is a necessary step in a time when social media is being used to silence voices that speak for justice and reform.

ML added that while they believe in the freedom of expression, this must not be used and weaponized to silence truth.

We believe in freedom of expression. Expression becomes dangerous when it is driven by disinformation and personal malice.”

Moreover, De Lima’s team also explained that in the current online climate, many of those who claim to be sharing their “opinion” are actually part of efforts to harass other individuals or organizations.

These are part of deliberate effort to harass, discredit, and instill fear. May masamang intensyon.

The partylist also gave their full support to Nadine in her fight, saying, “Her case is a stand for truth and accountability. Make no mistake: we will push back against this kind of behavior. Hindi ito katanggap-tanggap. Hindi ito dapat palampasin.

To end, “Maraming salamat, Nadine, sa tapang at paninindigan.

Nadine Lustre, who has been dubbed as the local Internet’s “President,” is known for her fearless take on pressing national issues.

Most-recently, she uploaded an open letter to the electorate prior to the 2025 midterm polls, where she pointed out that the election must go beyond the noise of the campaign jingles and flowery words.
