A new tandem will face the new local franchise.
In a plug uploaded on Thursday, May 22, the upcoming reality-singing competition ‘Idol Kids Philippines’ announced the hosting pair that will present the show.
“Premier Host” Robi Domingo, host of ‘Idol Philippines Season 2,’ will be joined by the “’90s Pop Culture Icon,” actress-singer-host Jolina Magdangal.
With this announcement, Magdangal is making her comeback to the Filipino ‘Idol’ franchise, as he previously served as judge in the GMA-produced ‘Pinoy Idol’ show in 2008.
Meanwhile, this is the latest in the string of presenting jobs for Domingo in 2025, with the slate including ‘Time To Dance’, ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’, and ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’.
At present, ‘Idol Kids Philippines’ has yet to name the judges that will form the panel for its inaugural season, which is set to air in June 2025 as per the latest teaser.
The upcoming show will be the first children-exclusive spin-off of the format, which had seen four seasons since it was first brought to the country in 2006—dating back to the ABC-produced ‘Philippine Idol.’
In 2008, after GMA-7 acquired the rights, the Kapuso network created the lone season of ‘Pinoy Idol’.
Ten years later, in 2018, ABS-CBN disclosed that it picked up the format for a third revival, ‘Idol Philippines,’ which broadcast in April of the following year.
