As part of a landmark deal between the popular sporting league and the streaming service.
In a video teaser uploaded on their social media pages, Prime Video announced the upcoming debut of the National Basketball Association (NBA) on the streaming platform.
The said clip bears the official NBA on Prime Video logo, which is a result of the 11-year global media rights agreement between both parties.
Set to begin in October 2025, the deal will see Prime Video customers in the Philippines receive, at no additional cost, exclusive coverage of 67 regular-season NBA games.
Included in the package are seven games from the Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup, all games of the post-season SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, and the first and second round games of the NBA Playoffs.
Following that, in 2026, Prime Video subscribers in the Philippines will be able to stream 30 regular-season WNBA games each season.
From the championship game of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup onwards, Prime Video will also be the exclusive home for WNBA postseason games and its one first-round series each year, seven semi-final series, and three WNBA Finals games within the span of the 11-year contract.
In addition to the main NBA league, Prime Video also inked a strategic partnership to become the third-party global channels store destination for the NBA League Pass.
It is the NBA’s subscription-based live and on-demand streaming of games, in the United States and internationally. With this partnership, fans gain additional access to more regular and post-season games for an additional monthly cost.
This new NBA and WNBA deal is a significant expansion in Prime Video’s live sports offering, with the leagues becoming the first live sports programming in the Philippines that will become available at no additional cost to all its subscribers.
At present, free-to-air and pay television broadcast rights of the NBA in the Philippines are with Cignal TV, Inc., which is home to the NBA TV Philippines channel and provides the games to its affiliates One Sports and RPTV.
