The return of the beloved ‘telefantasya’ franchise is looming.
On Friday, April 4, GMA Network aired a new teaser trailer for the upcoming fantasy-drama series ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.’
In the 30-second-long sneak preview, viewers see the four deities, known as diwatas, riding horses wearing their iconic color-coded costumes.
This snippet has further drummed up interest for the ‘Encantadia’ franchise, which GMA has confirmed to be airing on GMA Prime in 2025, coinciding with its 20th anniversary this year.
Both a sequel and spin-off from the ‘Encantadia’ 2016 version, ‘Sang’gre’ will revolve around Terra, the daughter of earth gem keeper Danaya.
Starring as Terra in this project is Kapuso actress Bianca Umali, with Faith da Silva, Kelvin Miranda, and Angel Guardian already casted in their respective roles of Flammara, Adamus, and Deia.
Apart from the four keepers, ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ will also see the return of previous major cast members in the 2016 series.
New additions, meanwhile, include the wicked ice queen that is Kera Mitena (who will be portrayed by Rhian Ramos) — the twin sister of Cassiopeia, played by Solenn Heussaff in the 2016 series.
Ricky Davao, Sherilyn Reyes-Tan, Bianca Manalo, Luis Hontiveros, among others, are also part of the upcoming spin-off/sequel.
Part of the series was directed by former director Mark Reyes, with the latter part having been taken over by the tandem of Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams.
