This unique event empowers participants to contribute to environmental conservation while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
The World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines (WWF-PH) and Pinoy Fitness are organizing the Earth Hour Virtual Run (EHVR) 2025, which will happen from March 22 to April 30, 2025.
This program, which is now in its fourth year, aims to go ‘Beyond The Hour‘ and encourages the running community to take action for the planet by dedicating their miles to a greater cause — raising awareness about the climate crisis and supporting WWF-Philippines’ conservation efforts to build a nature-positive future.
Participants can choose from four cumulative distance categories: 10K, 20K, 40K, and 60K, and complete their runs at their own pace and preferred location.
Joiners will have to download the Pinoy Fitness (PF) ATLETA mobile app to measure their runs.
Successful runners who get to finish their distance category within the race period will receive personalized race kits, plus a chance to win exciting raffle prizes.
“The EHVR 2025 is more than just a virtual race; it’s a movement that reminds us that even the smallest actions, like running for a cause, can create a positive impact,” shared Khristine Dee Labis Montenegro, WWF-PH Individual Donors Program Manager.
She continued, “Every step taken is a step toward a healthier planet, and we invite everyone to join us in making a difference.”
Since 2007, Earth Hour has engaged millions of people across 190 countries, uniting them to take action against climate change and biodiversity loss.
Through initiatives like the Earth Hour Virtual Run, “the movement continues to highlight the urgency of doing our part for the planet,” the WWF noted.
