Another series in the national franchise of the popular reality show.
On Friday, March 14, ‘Drag Race Philippines’ announced on its social media pages the upcoming launch of a new spin-off series this year.
Called the ‘Slaysian Royale,’ will see “[Drag Race Philippines] queens slay accla competing with Asian queens from across the Drag Race franchise in a battle for the crown,” according to the said post.
“This new version of Drag Race shines a spotlight on Asian drag as never before, celebrating its culture, its history and creativity in a unique battle royale,” said franchise co-founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey.
‘Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale’ will be streaming exclusively on Wowpresentsplus in the Philippines and globally this 2025, the post further revealed.
‘Drag Race Philippines’ is the local franchise of the long-running talent competition program ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ and is available in the Philippines via streaming service HBO Go.
Hosted by ‘Eat Bulaga’ host Paolo Ballesteros, ‘DRPH’ premiered in 2022 and saw Precious Paula Nicole as its first grand winner.
In 2023, it returned for a second season, which was won by drag queen Captivating Katkat.
Its most recent winner, Maxie Andreison, trumped her 10 rivals to be hailed as season 3’s winner and took home the crown, scepter, Php 1 million cash, and a year-worth of supplies from a cosmetics brand.
The format emanates from the United States version ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ which is hosted and produced by renowned drag queen and media personality RuPaul Charles since its debut in 2009.
