Original Filipino music (OPM) singer Maki is set to release the official music video of his single ‘Bughaw’ on Thursday, March 13.

Featured in the MV of the song, which was originally released in December 2024, are fellow singers, led by HORI7ON’s Kyler, YGIG’s Alexie Claire, and Zeke Abella.

Prior to its launch to the general public, Maki is set to hold a special event called ‘Bughaw Hour’ with his fans, ‘Zushis,’ on Wednesday, March 12.

‘Bughaw’ was first performed live by the singer during his two-night ‘Maki-Concert’ at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City in November 2024.

According to Maki, ‘Bughaw,’ which translates to blue, could refer to sadness. But he wants it to remind listeners about the sky and sea instead.

It also deviates from his past tracks, including ‘Dilaw,’ as the new song tackles friendly love.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, he also confirmed the next song will be black, as it will be titled ‘Itim Na Ulap.’

Maki went viral on social media in 2023, thanks to his Filipino or English translations of popular Korean pop songs like NewJeans’ ‘Ditto’ and ‘Super Shy,’ and IVE’s ‘After Like.’

He then went on to release his original song ‘Saan?’, which was later followed by ‘Bakit?’ and ‘Kailan?’.

In 2024, he dropped the smash hit single ‘Dilaw,’ which landed him the number 1 spot at the inaugural Billboard Philippines Top 100 chart in July 2024, and ‘Namumula’.
