He will be joining the ‘bayaniverse‘ of a local film outfit.
On Tuesday, February 18, Filipino movie company TBA Studios revealed the actor that will portray the late President Manuel L. Quezon in the historical biopic titled ‘Quezon’.
Chosen to play the part is Jericho Rosales, who will be making his big screen comeback after more than six years.
His previous project was the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry ‘The Girl In The Orange Dress’ with Jessy Mendiola.
In the film teaser, he was seen holding a book bearing the name ‘Quezon,’ before he revealed himself upon placing the object down on his lap.
Apart from Jericho, also confirmed as cast members are Karylle Tatlonghari-Yuzon — who will star as his other half, Aurora Quezon and Benjamin Alves as the younger Manuel Quezon.
Mon Confiado will also reprise his role as Emilio Aguinaldo, with Romnick Sarmenta doing Sergio Osmeña and JC Santos as Manuel Roxas.
Under the direction of Jerrold Tarog, ‘Quezon’ is slated to hit theaters in 2025.
The new film is the third to be developed in the ‘bayaniverse‘ franchise, with the other two being the 2015 movie ‘Heneral Luna’ starring John Arcilla and ‘Goyo’ topbilled by Paulo Avelino in 2018.
