Almost two years after her solo debut, she is back with new music.
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025, singer Jisoo of the popular Korean pop group Blackpink released the extended play ‘Amortage.’
Part of the said EP as its lead single is ‘Earthquake,’ with the song’s accompanying music video published concurrent with the album.
As of writing, the MV has garnered over 13 million views over 24 hours after it was uploaded onto video-sharing platform YouTube.
Apart from this being her first solo comeback independent from the band’s label, YG Entertainment, ‘Amortage’ also marks her first release under global music giant Warner Records.
Jisoo debuted in 2016 as part of the third-generation K-pop group Blackpink, along with fellow members Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé.
They became well-known in their home country and abroad, thanks to their successive hit songs ‘Whistle,’ ‘Boombayah,’ ‘Playing with Fire,’ ‘As If It’s Your Last,’ ‘Ddu-du Ddu-du,’ ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Lovesick Girls,’ ‘Pink Venom,’ and ‘Shut Down,’ among many others.
In 2023, she dropped the single album titled ‘Me,’ which featured the viral hit song ‘Flower.’
The following year, in 2024, she established her own label named Blissoo.
Aside from music, she also has an active career in acting, having starred as Eun Young Ro in ‘Snowdrop’ in 2021 and will soon be seen in the Prime Video series ‘Newtopia’ the premiered last February 7.
Meanwhile, Blackpink is also expected to return with new music later this year, with their upcoming world tour having been announced already via the group’s official channels.
