GMA entertainment head Lilybeth Rasonable to retire in March

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), GMA Network, Inc., the parent firm of television giant GMA, shared an forthcoming change in its leadership.

It revealed that effective March 1, 2025, Lilybeth Gomez-Rasonable, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group, will officially retire from the company.

Rasonable finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communication at the University of the Philippines (UP) in 1985.

Prior to joining GMA in 1998, she previously worked for IBC and ABC (now TV5).

During Rasomable’s earlier tenure with the Kapuso network, she worked behind-the-scenes for the telefantasyas or fantasy dramas ‘Mulawin’ and ‘Encantadia.’

In 2013, upon the retirement of her predecessor Wilma Galvante from the network, she took charge of GMA Entertainment Television (now Entertainment Group).

Under her stewardship, she greenlit the likes of ‘My Husband’s Lover,’ ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra,’ ‘Pulang Araw,’ the Philippine adaptations of ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ ‘Voltes V: Legacy,’ and ‘Running Man Philippines.’

GMA Network, as of writing, has not yet named her successor in the position of SVP for Entertainment.
