It was months in the making.
On January 6, 2024, coinciding with the launch of its CNN Philippines simulcast, the noontime show produced by TVJ Productions on TV5 was formally renamed ‘Eat Bulaga’ after a win at the Marikina Regional Trial Court (RTC).
On the same day, the GMA-7 program produced by Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), Inc. was retitled ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ more than nine months after the departure of the TVJ team from the company after an internal scuffle.
Despite the change in name, TVJ’s ‘Eat Bulaga’ retained all segments that it created during its time as ‘E.A.T.,’ including ‘Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid’ and ‘Gimme 5’ — both of which were rehashed versions of their previous portions ‘Juan For All, All For Juan’ and ‘Pinoy Henyo’.
