The line will ferry commuters both earlier and later in the day during the Christmas rush.
On Thursday, December 5, the Department of Transportation announced that the three major metro lines in the National Capital Region (NCR) will have their operating hours extended during the holiday rush.
One of those is the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), which will implement a special schedule from Friday, December 20, with the following adjusted timetable.
The first train will depart both Dr. Santos and FPJ Avenue stations at 4:30 am, while the last train leaves the southern terminal at 10:30 pm and the northern terminus at 10:45 pm on December 20 and 23.
On December 21 and 22, operations from both Dr. Santos and FPJ Avenue will start at 5:00 am, while the last train departs the former at 10:00 pm, and from the latter at 10:15 pm.
December 24, Christmas Eve, will see shortened operating times, with the first trains leaving at 5:00 am on both terminals, while the last from Dr. Santos leaves at 8:00 pm and the final train of the day departs at 8:15 pm from FPJ Avenue.
Christmas day, December 25, will see truncated hours, with trains leaving at 5:00 am on both ende, while the last northbound train moves from Dr. Santos at 9:30 pm and the southbound carriage from FPJ Avenue pulls away at 9:45 pm.
On December 26 and 27, the first train will be at 4:30 pm on both ends of the line, while the last train departs Dr. Santos at 10:00 pm, while will be 10:15 pm from FPJ Avenue.
From December 28 to 30, as well as January 1, 2025, the line will open at 5:00 am, with the last FPJ Avenue-bound train leaving the southern terminal at 9:30 pm, while the final southbound train on those days will be at 9:45 pm.
Shortened operations will be implemented on New Year’s Eve, December 31, as LRT-1 will still open at at 5:00 pm, but the last northbound train is scheduled to leave Dr. Santos at 7:00 pm, and at 7:15 pm, the last train heading towards the Parañaque station from FPJ Avenue will depart the station.
