The surprise collaboration happened during the first night.
Original Filipino Music (OPM) singer Maki kicked off his two-night ‘Maki-Concert’ last Friday, November 29.
During which, he performed his chart-topping songs, led by this year’s viral hit ‘Dilaw,’ where he stunned concert-goers after asking none other BINI member Maloi Ricalde to join him on stage.
Maloi is Maki’s leading lady in the music video of the single, which was released last May 2024.
Through the song, he became the first OPM artist to make it to the top of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart when it was launched in July 2024.
Back to the BINI member, her outfit for the event was also highly-suitable, as she was seen sporting a yellow-colored crop top, along with her signature eyeglasses.
As for Maki, his debut solo concert has a second night scheduled for this evening at the same venue.
Guest performers for the two-night show in Quezon City are Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, Sitti, Nameless Kids, Angela Ken, and Cesca.
Meanwhile, Maki’s fans around the country will also have to chance to catch him in the upcoming regional ‘Maki-Concert’ shows beginning January.
The first leg of the regional tour will happen in Cebu province, where he is slated to perform on January 11, 2025.
This will be followed by the Baguio concert on January 24, 2025, before the Cagayan de Oro event on February 22, 2025.
Aside from the three confirmed stops, Tarsier Records also teased that there is “more” to come.
Maki went viral on social media in 2023, thanks to his Filipino or English translations of popular Korean pop songs like NewJeans’ ‘Ditto’ and ‘Super Shy,’ and IVE’s ‘After Like.’
He then went on to release his original song ‘Saan?’, which was later followed by ‘Bakit?’ and ‘Kailan?’.
Last August, Maki released his latest single titled ‘Namumula,’ which is also the official theme song of the newly-released DonBelle series ‘How To Spot A Red Flag,’ which streams exclusively on Viu.
