Just nine days into its highly-successful theatrical run.
On Friday, November 22, Star Cinema and GMA Pictures announced that the blockbuster film ‘Hello, Love, Again,’ starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, has broken another record.
This time, it was able to achieve the distinction of being the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all-time, 9 days after it began screening in theaters worldwide on November 13, after reporting a Php 930 million worldwide box-office gross.
It surpassed ‘Rewind,’ another Star Cinema production that was topbilled by Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, which logged more than Php 900 million in the box-office.
“Maraming salamat to all of you who gave your love and support for our film. We truly have found our home in you and we celebrate this success with you,” Star Cinema wrote in its post celebrating the achievement.
Apart from this, lead star Kathryn Bernardo also bagged the Snow Leopard Rising Star Award at the Asian World Film Festival 2024, which took place in California, USA.
The “KathDen” movie has been smashing records one after another, as it kicked off its theatrical run with a record 656 cinemas in the Philippines screening the movie, with the figure inflating to over 1000 once international screens have been accounted for.
With this, it was immediately able to claim the title of having the biggest opening day in local cinema with an Php 85 million gross.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, ‘Hello, Love, Again’ will see Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards’ reprisal of their respective roles as Joy (or Marie, rather) and Ethan from ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye.’
The movie’s main setting has also been moved to Canada, with events happening five years after the story of the first movie that was shot in Hong Kong.
Also part of the sequel film’s cast are Joross Gamboa, Valerie Concepcion, Jennica Garcia, Jameson Blake, Jeffrey Tam, and Lovely Abella.
