The “new gen” leading lady was chosen to sing the local interpretation of the film’s official soundtrack.
In a social media post, Walt Disney Studios Philippines teased the upcoming release of ‘Anong Daratnan,’ the Filipino version of the song ‘Beyond’ from the OST of the highly-anticipated animated movie sequel ‘Moana 2.’
“Does the voice ring a bell? Guess who’s the singer behind “Anong Daratnan,” the Filipino version of “Beyond” from Disney’s ‘Moana 2,'” the caption of the post read.
While the studio has not directly revealed the personality that they tapped to be the interpreter, a part of the face and voice of Kapamilya actress-singer Belle Mariano can be clearly heard in the teaser.
The version of the post on Facebook has since garnered more than 900,000 views as of writing.
Aside from that, Ben&Ben band member Agnes Reoma also shared her excitement and left a comment on the Instagram post, where she said: “Grabe naman yan.”
‘Moana 2’ is the sequel to the 2016 animated film ‘Moana,’ which grossed more than $680 million in the box-office.
Back then, another Kapamilya star, Janella Salvador, sang the Philippine version of the first film’s OST titled ‘How Far I’ll Go.’
A live-action version starring Catherine Lagaʻaia and Dwayne Johnson is in the works and has a target release date on July 10, 2026.
‘Moana 2’ is scheduled to premiere in local theaters on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
