BINI and their fans, Blooms, were equally shocked after a viral clip made rounds on social media, where the ‘Nation’s Girl Group’ hit single ‘Cherry On Top’ was used during the halftime show at a recent National Basketball Assocation (NBA) game.

The Clippers Spirit, the official dance team of the Los Angeles Clippers, used the song during their intermission number last Sunday, November 10, in the middle of the home team’s match against the Toronto Raptors in California.

The said production made its way to the local space after a fan posted the clip on X, formerly Twitter.

The official BINI account on the same platform later posted a copy of the halftime performance, and expressed their gratitude “for bringing BINI and the Pinoy spirit to the [NBA]!”

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, meanwhile, the members shared their initial reaction to the news of ‘Cherry On Top’ making it to the NBA.

Aiah said that she initially thought that it was “fake news,” with Gwen adding that they had to confirm wheter the circulating video was indeed real.

Mikha, meanwhile, said that the ‘Nation’s Girl Group’ still has a “long way to go,” and encourage fans to stay tuned to their future releases.

Aside from the NBA performance, the group is also celebrating their recent win as the ‘Best Asia Act’ at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2024, which was held in Manchester, England last Sunday, November 10.

The 8-member team competed against Korean girl group ILLIT, Japanese girl group Sakurazaka46, Indonesian soloist Mahalini, and Malaysian band Masdo in the said category.

At the moment, they are at the final stretch of prepations for their upcoming sold-out three-night first concert at the Araneta Coliseum titled ‘Grand Biniverse’ that is set to happen from Saturday, November 16 until November 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, in association with ABS-CBN News Documentaries, iWantTFC has also created a docu-series on the P-pop group, with the second installment, ‘Chapter 2: Here With You,’ having been released last November 8.

Aside from the concert and documentary, BINI is also reportedly preparing to release separate albums for local and international audiences by the end of the year.
