It will become available for streaming later this month.
On Monday, November 4, over-the-top platform Prime Video Philippines released the first teaser for ‘Saving Grace,’ which stars Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta.
The Filipino adaptation of the popular Japanese drama ‘Mother’ produced by ABS-CBN Studios and production unit Dreamscape Entertainment would be seen via the said streaming platform from Thursday, November 28, 2024.
In the minute-long teaser trailer, the audiences witness the life of the abused titular child character Grace in the hands of her own mother.
Upon discovering the conditions at home of her student, her teacher (portrayed by Julia Montes) decides to “kidnap” Grace with the intention of taking her away from her abusive mom.
The new series marks the respective small-screen comebacks and reunion of both Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta after their stints as Mara and Aurora in the longest-running primetime action drama ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ in 2021.
Joining them in the cast are new child star Zia Grace, Sam Milby, Janice de Belen, Jennica Garcia, Christian Bables, Eric Fructoso, and Elisse Joson, among many others.
The drama will be directed by FM Reyes and Dolly Dulu.
‘Saving Grace’ is the local adaptation of ‘Mother,’ which was first broadcast by Nippon TV in Japan in April 2010 and starred Yasuko Mastuyuki.
Since then, it has been localized in nine (9) other countries, including South Korea, China, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, France, and Spain.
‘Saving Grace’ is also the fourth ABS-CBN production to premiere first or exclusively on the Prime Video platform, following ‘Cattleya Killer,’ ‘Fit Check: Confessions Of An Ukay Queen,’ and ‘Linlang.’
Aside from the OTT platform, the drama series is expected to be aired on primetime via ABS-CBN platforms sometime in 2025.
