The shocking announcement came earlier this week.

On Wednesday, October 23, Korean entertainment agency P Nation announced that its artist Woo Kyung Jun, member of the boy band TNX or THE NEW SIX, will be leaving the group.

The company cited that the 22-year-old idol, has voluntarily enlisted in the mandatory military service of South Korea way before the usual conscription age.

“Kyung Jun recently informed us of his decision to enlist in the military and to leave THE NEW SIX upon completing his service,” P Nation said in their statement.

Moreover, the agency told fans and the public that moving forward, TNX will continue as a five-member team composed of Taehun, Hyunsoo, Junhyeok, Hwi, and Sung Jun, who they say have “reaffirmed their solidarity towards THE NEW SIX.”

TNX or THE NEW SIX was formed through the survival show ‘Loud’ in 2021, which was a collaboration between P Nation and another K-pop agency, JYP Entertainment.

Supposedly, the winning contestants of the program will together form a seven-member group. However, in an announcement, Koki Tanaka was withdrawn to continue his training with P Nation.

In March 2022, the six-member group was officially given the name TNX and debuted with their first extended play titled ‘Way Up’ the following month.

Since then, they have released songs like ‘I Need U,’ ‘Love Or Die,’ and ‘Kick It 4 Now.’

Earlier this year, TNX dropped the single ‘Fuego.’
