The group bested their peers to become the champions for the 15th edition.
On Saturday, October 26, winners for the week-long ‘Magpasikat’ anniversary special of ABS-CBN’s longest-running noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ were officially announced.
Taking this year’s championship is the Team OKML composed of hosts Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, MC Muah, and Lassy Marquez.
Their team performed last Tuesday, October 22, to deliver their 20-minute spectacle grounded on the theme of “self-love.”
As per the members of the group, they will be donating their Php 300,000 cash prize to the Angat Buhay Foundation established by former Vice President Leni Robredo.
Meanwhile, declared second placers are Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez, who were the last to perform on Friday, October 25, and staged a production that tackled mental well-being.
Anne Curtis, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz (or Team AJT) and their presentation of ‘It’s Showtime’ “core memories” took third place.
The ‘Magpasikat’ anniversary special began in 2010 as a way for the hosts of ‘It’s Showtime’ to express their talents and deliver spectacles for the ‘Madlang People.’
The 2024 edition is particularly historic for the program, as it is also the first time that the noontime show is celebrating the milestone on GMA-7.
‘Showtime’ began airing on the Kapuso network’s main channel in April 2024, more than nine months since it began airing on the secondary channel GTV.
Although, apart from the network, it is also available on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and ALLTV, on top of the digital platforms Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC.
Serving as judges this year are former ABS-CBN president Freddie M. Garcia, director Rory Quintos, Kapamilya leading man Donny Pangilinan, and Kapuso stars Alice Dixson and Gabbi Garcia.
