CJ Opiaza finishes first runner-up in Miss Grand International 2024

On Friday, October 25, the coronation night for the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant took place in Thailand.

In the said event, 69 delegates from all over the world competed for the chance to get the MGI crown.

Our country, represented by Miss Grand Philippines 2024 Christine Justine (CJ) Opiaza, ended her journey as this year’s first runner-up.

India’s Rachel Gupta was ultimately crowned winner, while Myanmar representative Thae Su Nyein was named second runner-up, followed by Safiétou Kabengele of France in the third runner-up spot, and Brazil’s Talita Hartmann as fourth runner-up.

Meanwhile, delegates from the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Peru, Spain, and United Kingdom made it to the Top 10, but were given the title fifth runners-up after failing to enter the Top 5 in the competition.

Opiaza’s finish is the third instance that a candidate from the Philippines has landed on the said spot in the MGI.

Past Miss Grand International representatives Nicole Cordoves and Samantha Bernardo both ended as first runners-up when they joined in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
