Over the past few days, images of singer and actor Sam Concepcion while wearing white tank tops in the ongoing musical ‘Once On This Island’ made rounds on social media.
Many having been impressed and swooned by Concepcion’s look and his biceps in the photo, which caused him to be dubbed as the newest “daddy” of the internet.
That word is a colloquial term used to describe a male personality with bulk or buff physique.
As the photos began circulating further, the ever-witty netziens also used it to play with the lyrics of his popular 2013 song ‘Dati,’ which he recorded alongside Tippy Dos Santos for the Philpop Music Festival that year.
They changed some of the songs lyrics, such as the “[d]ati-rati, sabay pa nating pinangarap ang lahat” to “[d]addy, daddy, sabay pa nating pinangarap ang lahat.”
Concepcion began his career as a teen star when he won the first season of ABS-CBN reality singing competition ‘Little Big Star’ as the Brightest Star of the Big division.
He eventually went on to pursue both singing and acting by having projects like ‘ASAP,’ ‘Super Inggo,’ ‘I Do Bidoo Bidoo,’ ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2,’ and ‘The Killer Bride,’ among others.
He has also joined several musicals over the course of his career, such as ‘High School Musical on Stage’ and ‘Peter Pan.’
In 2021, he released the viral song ‘Diwata’ for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant that year.
