The newscaster has married her British fiancé.
On Sunday, September 8, the Philippines’s first transwoman primetime news presenter and Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Supporting Actress winner KaladKaren, also known by her given name Jervi Li, shared a new major life milestone.
KaladKaren has finally tied the knot with her longtime partner Luke Writghtson in a wedding ceremony held in the United Kingdom.
On Instagram, the newly-pronounced Mrs. Wrightson shared a lengthy caption to accompany snapshots taken during the wedding.
“Wedding in the clouds. Luke and I dreamed for a beautiful sunny day in this fantastic cliff top wedding venue in England. It’s supposed to have the best overlooking views in North Yorkshire,” she detailed.
However, she noted that “ironically, the views were covered by a thick fog! It was almost zero visibility! What a one in a million chance!”
KaladKaren also said that she does not feel “unlucky,” as “marrying the love of my life surrounded by our dearest friends and families… makes me feel the luckiest woman alive! And hey, who else can say they got married in the clouds?!”
The post earned positive remarks from her colleagues in the showbusiness, led by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Iza Calzado, Bela Padilla, Jessy Mendiola, Angeline Quinto, among many others.
KaladKaren and Luke first met in Hong Kong back in 2012 and got engaged during the pandemic lockdown in 2020.
Last July, in the lead-up to the wedding, Luke surprised KaladKaren with a second proposal in London.
