The country’s oldest collegiate sports league has started its historic season.

On Saturday, September 7, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) officially opened its 100th season.

For the opening ceremony, Filipino pop (P-pop) acts Justin de Dios of SB19 and G22 performed at the event.

Justin staged his individual version of the group’s song ‘Moonlight,’ as well as his own solo singles ‘kaibigan’ and ‘Surreal,’ which were all released this year.

G22, meanwhile, performed ‘Own the Future.’

For the first game of the men’s basketball tournment this season, the San Beda College Red Lions dominated the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Pirates, 79-63.

As for the next game, the College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Blazers led its match against the Mapua Cardinals, 78-65.
