The Kapuso Network issued a clarification regarding the matter.
On Tuesday, September 3, GMA Network shared a notice to the public concerning noontime-variety show ‘It’s Showtime.’
There, it disclosed that the longest-running ABS-CBN-produced noon program will continue airing on both GMA-7 and GTV channels despite the upcoming commencement of the 100th season of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) on September 7.
“Tuloy-tuloy lang ang masayang funanghalian dahil tuloy-tuloy pa ring mapapanood ang It’s Showtime sa GMA at GTV tuwing 12:00PM–2:30PM, Lunes hanggang Sabado,” the caption in the photo read.
The clatificatory post comes after a fanmade artcard circulated on social media in the past few days, which pronounced that ‘Showtime’ will be limiting its simultaneous airing on GTV to only Monday and Thursday afternoon to give way for the broadcast of NCAA games on other days.
Speaking of which, the NCAA games will be carried by both GTV and the digital terrestrial subchannel Heart of Asia.
Regarding NCAA on GTV, the channel is expected to air only the second games on most days, with coverage of all matches only occurring every Sunday.
Heart of Asia is expected to pick up the slack and air majority of the games live.
Back to ‘It’s Showtime,’ aside from its GMA and GTV simulcasts, the program also continues to air from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 noon on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, ALLTV, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWantTFC.
