The Korean actor has joined the growing stable of artists of the agency.
On Wednesday, August 28, South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo officially signed a contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center, sealing his entry to the Philippine showbusiness.
Joining him in the contract signing event are several executives of GMA Network, led by Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Legal, Human Resources Development, and Worldwide Group, Atty. Annette M. Gozon-Valdes and SVP for Entertainment Group Lilybeth Rasonable.
Prior to joining Sparkle, Ji Soo had already visible in several programs of the Kapuso network, such as the primetime series ‘Black Rider’ and currently on the top-rating afternoon drama ‘Abot-Kamay na Pangarap.’
Kim is also doing the film ‘Mujigae,’ which is being shot in Zambales.
Earlier this year, the Korean star made his return to the small screen after his three-year hiatus after a bullying controversy and his enlistment in South Korea’s mandatory military service in 2021.
Prior to that, Ji Soo had already starred in various Korean drama series, with his most popular roles being 14th Prince Wang Jung in ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ and the policeman In Gook Du in ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.’
In late 2023, he uploaded photos on his Instagram account with the captions that include the word “Manila,” which triggered speculations about his future career plans — including debuting in the Philippine entertainment scene.
