The “most-beautiful night in the universe” is happening anew later this year.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO), on Saturday, August 24, shared details about the upcoming pageant in Mexico this year where Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios will crown her successor.
As per the organization, the coronation night of the 73rd Miss Universe pageant will happen at the CDMX Arena in Mexico City on Saturday, November 16, 2024 or on the morning of Sunday, November 17 in Manila.
Prior to which, the preliminaries and national costume show will be on November 14 (November 15, Manila time).
Aside from those, the MUO also teased a new show format, but specifics were not made available.
130 contestants are expected to compete for the crown, including the Philippines’ very own Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo.
Manalo is eyeing to get the country’s fifth crown in the pageant, and join the leagues of Filipina Miss Universe winners composed of Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
As for the official local broadcaster of the pageant, no details are available at the moment with regards to which platforms the 73rd Miss Universe will air in the Philippines.
Although, at least during the past two editions in 2022 and 2023, ABS-CBN aired the MU coronation events over its flagship pay TV platform Kapamilya Channel, free-to-air channel A2Z, and iWantTFC.
