ABS-CBN has revamped its late afternoon block.
On July 1, ABS-CBN debuted a pair of new shows on its pre-primetime block from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, a time slot that last had an original program in 2022.
These shows are the 15-minute news bulletin ‘TV Patrol Express’ and the revival series of the iconic children’s-led comedy show ‘Goin’ Bulilit.’
TV PATROL EXPRESS
“Mga impormasyong mahalaga, no more, no less.”
That has been the mission of ABS-CBN News digital newscast ‘TV Patrol Express,’ which made the big leap from social media and YouTube to television screens on Monday.
The program anchored by Jeff Canoy and Denice Dinsay, made its online debut as a concise and taped program in January 2024.
But beginning last Monday, June 24, ‘TVP Express’ was reformatted into a live news program from from Monday to Friday at 5:30 pm.
With its linear television today, it adds the Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, and ALLTV as its new homes, on top of ABS-CBN News digital accounts and iWantTFC.
‘TV Patrol Express’ history dates back to ‘Web Patrol’ with Julius Babao in the early 2000s and ‘In The Loop’ anchored by now-ABS-CBN North America Bureau chief TJ Manotoc in 2015.
‘TVP Express’ is also the latest expansion of the brand of ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast ‘TV Patrol,’ which also currently encompasses the weekend edition ‘TV Patrol Weekend’ and the ‘Patrol Ng Pilipino’ social media-centric news program.
‘TV Patrol Express’ will air from Monday to Friday at 5:30 pm on ABS-CBN platforms, A2Z, and ALLTV.
GOIN’ BULILIT
The children-led comedy gag show is back.
After a five-year long hiatus, ABS-CBN’s popular children-led comedy show ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ returned to the screen on Monday, July 1.
The new cast is led by ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ star and content creator Baby Giant, ‘It’s Showtime’ Batang Cute-po members Argus, Jaze, Imogen, Kulot, Kelsey, Briseis, and Enicka, among many others.
The revival series also differs itself from the original version, which ran from 2005 to 2019, as it airs all week long from Monday to Sunday.
It has also become a co-production between ABS-CBN Studios and television network ALLTV.
With 14 years under its belt, ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ served as the launchpad of many stars of their generation, led by the likes of Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, Miles Ocampo, Nash Aguas, Sharlene San Pedro, Mika dela Cruz, Belle Mariano, among many others.
However, in August 2019, ABS-CBN canceled ‘GB’ after 14 years on the air due to unknown reasons. It was speculated, though, that its demise might have been caused by dwindling television ratings that the show was having at that time.
The new ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ runs Monday to Friday at 5:45 pm and every Saturday and Sunday at 4:30 pm on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Jeepney TV, A2Z, and ALLTV.
