On Tuesday, June 4, the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they are extending the visa-free entry policy for citizens of the Philippines and our fellow Southeast Asian nations Brunei and Thailand.
According to the MFA, the extension will take effect the day after the supposed last day of visa-free entry for the three nations this July, or on August 1, 2024 until July 31, 2025.
Eligible for the visa-free entry are Filipino passport holders, excluding those using diplomatic passports, and are allowed to stay for up to 14 days in Taiwan.
Travelers should have their passports valid for six months before expiry, hotel reservation, contact information, and financial proof that they will present at the immigration.
Not part of this scheme are crew members of aircrafts and ships that will board for duty in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s visa-free policy resumed on September 29, 2024. It was originally set to end on July 31, 2023, before it was extended to another year or until July 31, 2024.
