The news and public service channel will now be seen by more viewers nationwide.

Starting Monday, May 27, Teleradyo Serbisyo — the television hook-up channel of AM radio news, talk, and public service station DWPM Radyo 630 — will officially make its free-to-air debut.

This, as its programs will be aired over new free TV channel Prime TV, which is carried as a digital subchannel of the BEAM TV network nationwide.

Prime TV is seen on digital TV channel 31 in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Zamboanga. It is on channel 32 in Naga, Camarines Sur. Viewers in Baguio and Iloilo will have to tune in to channel 26.

The new channel is a sister platform of Teleradyo Serbisyo through its majority owner Prime Media Holdings, Inc.

Aside from Prime TV, Prime Media also owns FM radio network Favorite Music Radio and regional television station PRTV in Tacloban.

FREE TV COMEBACK, SORT OF

The upcoming launch of Teleradyo Serbisyo on Prime TV marks the indirect return of the station on free TV.

During its time as DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, ABS-CBN’s former flagship AM radio station, its television feed DZMM TeleRadyo was officially made available to TVplus viewers from July 2018 until the free-to-air shutdown of the Kapamilya network in May 2020.

After the fateful night of May 5, the TV service resumed operations three days later on May 8, 2020, with it being rebranded simply as ‘Teleradyo.’

It went on to continue broadcasting despite the House’s denial of ABS-CBN franchise renewal in July 2020.

In May 2022, Teleradyo resumed its free-to-air broadcasts via ZOE Broadcasting Network’s digital TV frequency, which was made possible by a channel licensing agreement between ABS-CBN and ZOE.

However, that did not last long and Teleradyo returned to being a pay TV channel and digital news station by November 2022.

The following year, due to “financial losses,” ABS-CBN entered into a joint venture agreement with Prime Media Holdings, Inc. to set up Media Serbisyo Corporation in May 2023.

Prime Media owns the 51% majority share of the company, while ABS-CBN has a 49% minority stake.

Under the JV, the operations of the TV channel was transferred to the new entity, while the 630 kHz frequency on AM radio was reborn as DWPM Radyo 630 in June 2023.

The upcoming free-to-air comeback of sorts for Teleradyo Serbisyo also coincides with its upcoming first anniversary on June 30.
