The night will see two “wins.”
On Saturday, May 11, organizers of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant announced the appearance of Thai actor Win Metawin as performer at its upcoming coronation event on May 22.
He joins the star-studded event hosted by Alden Richards, Gabbi Garcia, Jeannie Mai, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, and Tim Yap.
‘Drag Race UK vs. The World’ finalist Marina Summers, and the band behind the hit song ‘Raining in Manila,’ Lola Amour are also set to perform for the coronation night.
For this year’s pageant, 53 contenders from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Filipino communities abroad will vie for the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and will be succeed Miss Universe 2023 Top 10 finisher Michelle Marquez Dee.
The new queen will also be representing the Philippines at the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico later this year.
His upcoming MUPH appearance will mark Win’s return to Manila after only a month.
His most-recent visit to the country was last April when he attended the premiere of his movie ‘Under Parallel Skies,’ which he topbills with Filipina actress-singer Janella Salvador.
That month, Win also made his first live TV guesting in the Philippines when he promoted the film with Janella on ABS-CBN noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’.
Win Metawin is also known for his characters in Thai drama serials ‘2gether: The Series,’ ‘Beauty and the Guy,’ ‘F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers,’ ‘Enigma,’ and most recently, in ‘Beauty Newbie.’
His home studio GMMTV also confirmed last month that he will be starring as the male lead in the Thai remake of ‘Scarlet Heart,’ which is due to begin airing later this year.
