Leading Philippine television network GMA Network made an outstanding feat when it brought home seven medals from the 2024 New York Festival Film and TV Awards.

This is the first time that all of their shortlisted submissions were able to win a medal at the prestigious award-giving body.

Of those, GMA Integrated News collected one bronze for the News Documentary / Special ‘Sundo’ by reporters Raffy Tima and JP Soriano.

The other six were bagged by GMA Public Affairs productions.

Two of which went to ‘The Atom Araullo Specials,’ with a Gold for ‘Batas Bata’ in the Documentary: Social Justice category and a Silver for ‘Hingang Malalim’ in the Documentary: Human Concerns category.

‘I Witness,’ GMA’s longest-running documentary show, continues to be one of the most-awarded in the Philippines when it garnered three medals.

It raked in a silver in the Documentary: Social Issues category for ‘Bawat Barya’ of Atom Araullo; and a bronze for each for ‘Sisid sa Putik’ by Mav Gonzales in the Documentary: Social Portraits category and ‘Boat To School’ by Howie Severino, which won in the Documentary: Heroes category.

To cap off the list, GMA Public Affairs’ primetime action drama series ‘Black Rider’ starring Ruru Madrid earned a bronze medal in the Entertainment: Drama category.

The seven-medal haul this year comes following the network’s achievement of getting two Gold and two Silver medals, on top of five Finalist certificates in 2023.
