The young actress has addressed her mistake in a recent awards show.
Filipina actress Francine Diaz was recently invited to the 2024 Asia Star Entertainer Awards in Yokohama, Japan to present the Global K-pop Leader award.
The said recognition was won by Korean pop group Tomorrow X Together or TXT.
However, the moment immediately went viral on social media after Diaz mistakenly pronounced the group’s name as “Tomorrow times Together,” instead of “Tomorrow by Together.”
In an Instagram live broadcast, the 20-year-old Filipina star addressed the blunder.
“I’m very sorry for that very big mistake,” directing her apology to MOAs, TXT’s fanbase.
“Pagpasensyahan niyo na po ako dahil hindi na po ako ganon ka-updated sa nangyayari ngayon sa K-pop world,” she explained her unfamiliarity towards the correct pronunciation of the name.
Francine also shared that despite the gaffe, TXT members remained kind and even offered her a seat.
Aside from that, she also thanked MOAs for their understanding, especially those who found the small mistake to be cute and amusing.
Tomorrow X Together debuted as a five-member team composed Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai in March 2019.
They are known for their songs ‘Crown,’ ‘Run Away,’ ‘Blue Hour,’ ‘I Know I Love You,’ ‘Loser=Lover,’ ‘Good Boy Gone Bad,’ and ‘Sugar Rush Ride.’
In July 2023, they collaborated with American band Jonas Brothers for the single ‘Do It Like That,’ before releasing their album ‘The Name Chapter: Freefall’ in October, which carries the single ‘Chasing That Feeling.’
TXT also brought their ‘Act Sweet: Mirage’ tour to the Philippines last August 2023.
