The platform recently welcomed to its collection some programs from the local network.
Earlier this week, Asian streaming giant Viu added to its vast content library three shows from GMA Network.
These shows are ‘First Yaya,’ ‘Lolong,’ and ‘Widow’s Web,’ which have all previously aired on the Kapuso network’s primetime block some years ago.
‘First Yaya’ stars Sanya Lopez in the role of Melody and Gabby Garcia as President Glen Acosta, and was the highest-rated series of GMA in the year 2021, reaching heights of 23% in the TV ratings game.
Meanwhile, Ruru Madrid’s ‘Lolong’ follows him and his pet crocodile Dakila as they fight injustice in their hometown. The action-fantasy drama is also GMA’s highest-rated program of the year in 2022.
Third of the list is ‘Widow’s Web,’ which is dubbed as a ‘suspenserye’ thanks to its crime-mystery storyline. It was aired in early 2022 on GMA Network’s second primetime drama slot.
The addition of these shows adds to GMA’s catalog of shows that have been made available on the Viu platform.
Kapuso dramas ‘Love Before Sunrise,’ ‘The Write One,’ and the co-produced series of GMA and ABS-CBN, ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ are all currently available on the streaming service.
Aside from Viu, some of GMA’s past programs are also streaming on its own GMA Network app, YouTube, Netflix, and ABS-CBN’s iWantTFC service for Filipinos abroad.
