On Thursday, February 1, ABS-CBN Studios’ primetime drama series ‘Linlang’ — starring Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, and JM de Guzman — registered an astounding viewership on television.
This, as the program hit the new all-time high (post-shutdown) figure for an ABS-CBN drama on the second slot post-flagship newscasts.
‘Linlang,’ which aired the episode titled ‘Huli’ that night, recorded a 10.0% rating in Nielsen’s National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM).
It is now the highest-rated episode for any ABS-CBN drama on the said slot in almost four years, and also the first drama on the slot to get a double-digit figure.
That enabled the ‘kabitserye’ to topple its own record-setting 9.9% rating that it registered on January 23, 2024.
Additionally, that evening’s screening successfully fended off their nearest rival on the same slot, GMA’s ‘Love Die Repeat,’ which garnered a 8.4% figure.
Aside from lording over the TV ratings game, ‘Linlang’ also dominated the online space.
Its Thursday episode peaked at 412,043 concurrent viewers on the Kapamilya Online Live platform on YouTube, as reported by the production unit Dreamscape.
Aside from the show, ABS-CBN’s entire Primetime Bida drama line-up performed strongly on the first night of February.
In the first drama slot, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ received a 14.2% viewership, surpassing the 12.0% rating received by GMA’s ‘Black Rider.’
‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ also outperformed its archrival ‘Asawa ng Asawa Ko.’ ‘CBML’ stood at 6.0%, while it was only 5.4% for ‘ANAK.’
Finally, the fourth slot ended the game on a draw, as the limited-run Kapamilya series ‘Zoomers’ and the Tagalized version of Korean drama ‘Jinxed at First’ both recorded 2.7%.
The ratings for ABS-CBN shows are the cumulated figures for the simultaneous screening on TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Channel.
Meanwhile, figures for GMA programs are inclusive of their simultaneous broadcast on Pinoy Hits.
The numbers for the GTV airing of ‘Black Rider’ at 9:40 pm and ‘Love Die Repeat’ at 10:50 pm are not accounted due to both shows not airing on the same time slot as they air on GMA and Pinoy Hits.
