On Wednesday, January 31, Philippine-based budget airline Cebu Pacific was revealed to have changed the flight number of its Singapore-bound flights this March.
Upon visiting CebPac’s website, one would see that a special flight number 5J 1989 will be flying from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 5:25 am to Singapore Changi Airport at 9:25 am from March 1 to 9, 2024.
Usually, the flight number designated for the route at that specific time is 5J 813.
Cebu Pacific also said that those who have booked the flight in advance will not be affected by the renumbering and will duly notified about the change before the flight.
1989 is the year when global music superstar Taylor Swift was born and also the title for one of her albums, which she had also recently re-recorded.
According to Cebu Pacific, select flights under the number will have on-board Taylor Swift-themed games and giveaways for its passengers.
These special 1989 flights will coincide with Taylor Swift’s staging of her ‘The Eras’ concert world tour in Singapore, which is the only Southeast Asian country she will visit.
Swift will hold six shows for ‘The Eras’ in Singapore, which will happen at the Singapore National Stadium in Kallang, from March 2 to 4 and again from March 7 to 9.
