This week, an old clip from GMA’s artista search ‘StarStruck’ went back to general circulation online. The clip in question is the hair transformation of season 4 grand winner Kris Bernal.
During that episode, Bernal, along with other contestants in the program, went to a salon to have their hairstyles changed.
For Kris, she wanted to have hers trimmed by a few inches only.
However, when the final look was revealed, Kris’ style became much more than what she asked for.
According to the hairstylist Richard Perello, since most of the contestants have similar long hairstyles, he preferred to cut Kris’ hair short as it “suits her well.”
Reposting the old clip in her Instagram stories, Kris jokingly captioned: “‘Yung trauma ko dito… Chareeeet.”
In response to the outpour of comments looking for the original stylist, his son Neo took to TikTok to apologize on behalf of his father.
He also further explained that it was the management who had wanted the look for Kris.
The inspiration for the look was also revealed to be Chalize Theron’s hairstyle in the 2005 film Aeonflux.
To date, the clip posted by GMA Network by Tiktok has been watched nearly 7 million times.
