After n years!
On Tuesday, November 7, ‘It’s Showtime’ continued its ‘Magpasikat’ week with the showcase of Team KALM, which consists of hosts Karylle, Amy Perez, Lassy Marquez, and MC Muah.
One of the major highlights in their performance was the surprise reunion of the four original ‘Encantadia’ Sang’gres, namely Karylle, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Diana Zubiri.
Their appearance as four became a rare feat in recent years, especially after Zubiri and her family emigrated to Australia.
After the performance, Dizon also shared that this ‘Magpasikat’ get-together of the OG Sang’gres almost didn’t happen, as she had a busy schedule. But upon hearing Diana’s return to the country for the performance, as well as their sisterly bond, she ultimately decided to participate in the act.
The reunion of the four Sang’gres also coincides with the recent cast announcements for the upcoming spin-off sequel of ‘Encantadia’ titled ‘Sang’gre’. The said series, which will be topbilled by Bianca Umali, will air on GMA this 2024.
Aside from the Sang’gres, Team KALM also brought in ‘Pambansang Ginoo’ and Kapuso actor David Licauco as another surprise guest. Licauco gave voice to the character of Lulu, which was created with the help of Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
P-pop groups BINI and BGYO also joined the performance, and sang their songs ‘Strings’ with Lassy and ‘The Light’ with MC, respectively.
Filipino Taylor Swift impersonator Taylor Sheesh also joined the tap dance number of Amy Perez. Singers Roselle Nava and Fana were also featured as the number’s opening act.
‘Magpasikat’ week on ‘It’s Showtime’ will continue until Friday, November 10. Tomorrow, November 8, it will be the turn of Ogie Alcasid, Anne Curtis, Ryan Bang, and company to perform.
